Group Facilitator
Training Course
Overview
This four-week training course equips stroke and TBI survivors to become skilled conversation facilitators for fellow stroke and TBI survivors. Participants will learn how to foster meaningful discussions that promote connection, understanding, and resilience. The program emphasizes practical skills, personal growth, and strategies for managing group dynamics with empathy and confidence. By the end of the course, participants will feel empowered to lead safe, inclusive, and impactful discussions. Sessions include interactive activities, role-playing scenarios, and opportunities to practice facilitation techniques.
Who
Survivors who have shared their stories with Beyond Stillness and wish to start and lead Community Conversation Groups, online or in person.
When and Where
Connect via Zoom 3-4:30pm PST on Tuesdays beginning February 18th and concluding March 11th.
Themes by Week
February 18th: Understand the Facilitator Role
Explore the purpose of facilitation, power of storytelling, and role of the facilitator in creating a safe, inclusive space.
February 25th: Build Connection and Trust
Learn techniques to establish rapport, encourage open communication, and create a supportive group environment.
March 4th: Facilitate with Confidence
Develop skills to guide discussions, navigate challenging moments, and ensure all voices are heard.
March 11th: Plan Your Path Forward
Create a step-by-step plan to launch your community conversation group and outline ongoing support for your growth as a facilitator.
Midweek Connection
Participants will connect with a fellow facilitator between sessions to check in and reflect on how the content shows up in their daily lives.

About the Facilitator
Throughout the past twenty years, Molly has led leadership and facilitation trainings, and now she’s creating dedicated space to empower stroke and TBI survivors to lead. As a stroke survivor herself, this focus is a natural fit. Her gatherings offer deep reflection, supportive community, and a nurturing environment essential for navigating recovery challenges. In Beyond Stillness gatherings, participants are truly seen, heard, and empowered on their journey.
Size
Group size ranges between six and twelve. Full refund will be given if class size is below minimum.

As a way to honor equal accessibility, we offer a sliding-scale.
$150 USD - One participant
$225 USD - Co-Sponsor (pays for you and part of another)
